Tunnels of Terror

Hey everyone! So I need some help...and I know some of you guys can help me big time! For college, the on-campus housing students (and some others...) are doing 'Tunnels of Terror' where we haunt the tunnels underneath Snow College. We do this for the rest of the students and I guess the people of Ephraim, Manti, and surrounding areas or something (I'm not sure who we're actually doing it for). I really want to do it...but I'm not sure what to dress up as. I could just be a nerd (haha...don't have to dress up much for that one! JK) but I wanna be something scary. Let me know if you guys have any ideas!

Chemistry Nerd

Today in Chemistry my lab partner David took this picture of me. haha. We were doing experiments with Sodium Bicarbonate and vinegar. Don't I sound cool? Haha. It was just Baking Soda and Vinegar. We measured gas volumes. It was kind of cool actually! So of course we had to wear our nerdy glasses just in case the balloons popped or came off. Haha. Anyways, enjoy el pictura! (Oh and the lines coming down is just my hair and some of them are the glasses...they were kind of breaking. I wanted to put some tape in the middle of them but we couldn't find any.)

The true nerd in me!

Each Life That Touches Ours for Good

In Institute today we sang this song and it just hit me hard. Just read through the lyrics and maybe it'll make sense why.

Each life that touches ours for good
Reflects thine own great mercy, Lord
Thou sendest blessings from above
Thru words and deeds of those who love.
What greater gift dost thou bestow,
What greater goodness can we know
Than Christ-like friends, whose gentle ways
Strengthen our faith, enrich our ways.

When such a friend from us departs,
We hold forever in our hearts
A sweet and hallowed memory
Bringing us nearer, Lord, to thee.
For worthy friends whose lives proclaim
Devotion to the Savior's name
Who bless our days with peace and love
We praise thy goodness, Lord, above.

Way Fun Weekend!

So with everything going on this past week (it's been a harder week for me), it's so nice to be able to have a weekend to unwind and relax. Shelynne came up Friday evening to spend the weekend up here. Haha. As I drove to meet her in Nephi I hit a skunk (the smell is just starting to leave my car). It was bad!

Anyways, it's been fun just to hang out with her! We haven't seen each other in person since last May (we also went through some tough times so we gave each other space) and so it's been great getting to know each other again! We've both changed quite a bit since we last saw each other.

We're going to go get pizza and watch John Tucker Must Die (again...don't ask). Talk to you guys later!

AWW!!! Haha. Us two the night she got here.

We made pancakes for lunch and I made her try peanut

butter on them...my family does it all the time!

Let's just say she was sort of hesitant to do it.

Haha...she actually really liked it! And she'd kill me if she knew I posted this pic!

Conference Weekend

Oh geez...even though I've been cooped up in my bedroom this weekend (between no one really being here as well as being pretty sick...again...and some other things I won't divulge in...I was forced to stay inside), I've been able to do some pretty cool things. Okay, maybe only like one, but I'll get to that later.

Conference was awesome!!! I loved hearing what the Prophet and apostles had to say! I don't know what it is about being away from home, but it made me listen even more closely to what they had to say.
So I woke up this morning to something beating on my window. Since I'm on the second floor I figured it couldn't be a person. So I got out of bed and pulled up my blinds and took a pic...it was raining! But no...it couldn't just rain...just take a look...

If you can't tell that that stuff is....IT'S HAIL!!!!! Oh man...I couldn't believe it. From what I've heard (which is just from college students so don't place too big of a bet on it) this is going to be a harder winter than the past couple ones. UH-OH! Haha. JK. But ya...it surprised me that the thing that was pounding on my window were good size chunks of hail!

Anyways, after conference was over, I started looking at some of my friends' pictures on Myspace. A lot of them have been creating these crazy pics off of this website http://www.yearbookyourself.com/ It's way fun! Anyways, I made a lot of ones of my friend (who since she probably hasn't gotten them in an email yet, I won't post them up here...but I must say that hers turned out a lot better than mine!) but here are the ones of me:

Angels

Okay, so I just got done (well, about an hour ago) watching General Conference. It was amazing! The talk that hit me the hardest was Elder Holland's talk on Angels. For those of you who either did hear it or not, he basically talked about how Heavenly Father sends angels down here (most of the time it's just other people that he sends to help you) to help comfort you in your time of need. Now, I'm sure a lot of us have seen the email about how you have friends for a reason, season, and friends for life. Back when I was in high school and I'd get that, I'd think...ya, it's cute and catchy, but it doesn't really apply. YA RIGHT! Now that I look back over my life, I realize just how many times that Heavenly Father has sent people to help me either for a reason, season, or for life. Right now I'd like to take a second to thank those angels who've been sent to me...a lot of you guys apply to more than one group just so you know!

To all the YW Leaders I've had since I turned 12: thank you so much for putting up with me! I pulled so many pranks on some of you that it's a wonder that you still talk to me! There were some years that I went through that were very difficult and some of you had to help me get through them. I know that it was probably one of the hardest things you've done. I know it is hard for me to know that I made you go through that. Some of you were leaders when I would go a little rebellious. Thanks for never giving up on me even though you probably could have. I said some things that I now regret to some of you....and I apologize from the bottom of my heart for those words I said. You guys made a huge difference in my life and I truly do love you!

To the YW Leaders I had right before I left for college: You guys are truly amazing! You guys helped prepare me to start my own life. It was extremely hard to leave you guys a month and a half ago. I'm so glad that I had the privilege of going to camp this past summer with you guys! It strengthened my testimony so much to see your guys's strength and testimonies.

To the friends for a reason and a season: thanks for helping me through that time. Always remember that even though we lost touch, I am always forever grateful for the influence you had in my life. You guys also had a huge impact on the choices that I made. I am a different person because you were in my life for the reason that you were!

To the friends who I will have for life: I love you guys! I never thought I would ever have friends for life. I'm so glad that I was able to get to know you! Your example and influence is amazing to me. As I watch you in everyday life, I am able to grow so much and learn more than I ever thought possible! Always remember that I am here for you and that no matter where we go in life, we'll always be best friends! I hope that someday I can be the sort of friend that you have been to me!

And last but not least, to the YW in the Woodruff Ward: for the last part of my senior year, you guys were my strength. You guys were the reason why I was happy. I looked forward to seeing you every Sunday and Wednesday! You were and are pretty much my closest friends! I still look forward to coming home just so that I can see your smiling faces! It just brightens up my day. We've gone through so much together! Through the good and the bad, the joy and the sorrow, the happiness and the hurt, we stood TOGETHER! We were really like sisters! And we still are. There's no doubt in my mind that we were meant to be together during those years of YW's. There was a reason...and the reason is because we were able to help each other. When one girl was struggling, all 20 or so of us rushed to help her. I look up to you guys so much! You guys are my light...my strength! I wish I was still in YW's...but I know that the Laurels that are in now are as good if not better than me...and I'm so glad that they were able to take charge once I moved! You guys are amazing...your testimonies are so strong! At camp the past 2 years I was amazed at how strong you guys were and are. I was never that strong when I was that age...or at least I didn't think I was. Don't ever lose your testimonies! You guys are now the youth of the church...make that mean something! I hope you guys realize just how amazing you really are. No doubt about it...this is the strongest that the YW have been since the beginning of the ward (trust me...I went into YW soon after it started). Always stay unified! That's the only way you'll stay strong. And above all else, stay who you are! You guys have the most unique personalities! It's amazing that people can be so different, but yet be like best friends! I love each one of you just the way you are! You can make me laugh even when I'm mad, you can make me smile even when I don't want to, and you have been my strength and sanity those last few months when I was in YW's. I love you guys soooo much and don't you ever forget it!!!
