Christmas door decorations and one crazy night!

Last night was one of the most fun nights I've had in awhile!!! First off, when I got home from work we started decorating our door...you'll have to see the pic below to see what it looked like and stuff. We had a competition here in Castilleja to see who could come up with the cutest door decoration. There were only about 3 of us that could even compete cuz most of the doors were cute, but not very creative. We'll find out who won tonight! I can't wait.

After that was all done with, we decided to watch Meet the Robinsons. I got out my art stuff to start drawing another portrait and we all went into the lobby to watch it. It was way fun!!! Haha.

This is me and Kyle...we're good buds and have a lot of fun together! Last night we all got together and watched Meet the Robinsons (I still hadn't seen it...) in the lobby on the bigscreen. It was fun!!! But late...I didn't get to bed for the second night in a row til about 2:30 am.

One pic of our door decoration. It was my vision...I came up with everything, put up the shower curtain, directed people in what to do, and they did it! We even made cute little presents out of paper and stuck them under our little christmas tree that we duct taped up to the wall. haha. It was cute!

Another pic of our door...haha.

Christmas Choir Concert

This last Tuesday was my final concert performance for this semester's choir class. I am taking it again next semester but this was our big finale Christmas concert. It was way fun! We sang The First Noel put to Pachelbell's Canon(I don't think I spelled that right), Breath of Heaven, Carol of the Bells (a capella...it was crazy good!), My Grown Up Christmas List, and finally Santa Baby with great choreography. We all pitched in some money and bought some tinsel that we used as boas for that song. Anyways, my family was able to come down for this one so I was glad they made the trip just to watch me sing 5 songs. haha. I'll post later (when I am home next week) the pics and hopefully the movie my mom took of Santa Baby. haha.

Me and the sibs...they drove 3 1/2 hours just to see me sing for like 15 minutes.

I know...I don't look very happy but the way she has us singing it's hard to show emotion in the mouth area. ha.

MONKEYS!!!!

Haha....oh my gosh. The most funniest thing just happened here in the dorm! So me and my roommate Sunny (the oriental one...) were laying on our beds just laughing at each other (we do that alot) and I looked at my legs and said "I need to shave. I'm hairy like a monkey" I asked her if she knew what a monkey was (just to see if she had related the english to chinese) and she said yes...but still had a confused look on her face. So what do I do? Of course...the obvious! Haha. I get up on my bed and act like a monkey...scratching my armpits and all! Haha. I even made the sound effects. I forgot, though, that our bedroom door as well as the apartment door were open...and so were 202's. So Tycia was in the doorway on their couch and looked over right as I was doing this. OH MAN! She just started laughing...and crying b/c she was laughing so hard! Haha. Then of course everyone else came out to see what the noise was about and I'd already collapsed on my bed embarrassed...haha, jk I never really get embarrassed here, but more out of laughing so hard. Haha. Anyways, just thought I'd share that with ya guys!

Drawings, News, and More!

Hey! So the past week or so I've been teaching myself how to draw faces. As some of you know, I am an artist...and I have quite a few drawings, but I just don't like to sound like I'm bragging so that's probably why most of you guys don't know that I'm an artist. Anyways, when I get home on Tuesday or Wednesday I'll post the two pics that I've drawn of myself as well as one for Cassie's mom of her when she was around the same age of me when I drew myself. I just don't have a scanner or anything while I'm here at college.

More amazing news! Today was pay day at Skyline...the pharmacy I work at. I went in to pick up my check so i have gas money to get home and Dave, the pharmacist, told me that because I turned in my license a little while ago I get a raise! It was weird b/c I'm so used to Old Grist Mill where a raise was like a max of 25 cents...but Dave said he'd try to get me at least a few more DOLLARS!!!!! IT's crazy how different a professional setting is from a fast food setting.

I'm doing okay down here in Ephraim...just a lot of stress I guess with finals and friends and everything like that. Today I also had to clean the bathroom. They're doing a 'serious' cleaning check on Monday so I went and bought some heavy duty shower cleaner as well as a magic eraser. Let me tell you...those erasers are pure magic! Haha. But I think I inhaled too much of the cleaner cuz people've told me I'm a little loopy and I have a migraine now. Even more reason for me to keep laying here in bed! Haha. l

Anyways, so ya I'm coming home for Thanksgiving so if anyone wants to hang out or anything give me a text or something k? I'd love to hang out with anyone!!! Haha.

Mile Swim

Oh my holy crap! Never in my mind did I ever think that I could possibly swim a half mile...let alone a mile...36 laps (a lap is down and back)!! I've been stressing a lot about the mile that I was scheduled to swim today. For the half mile I got a little over a half hour(the time limit) so I was really nervous b/c if we went over the time for the mile (which was one hour)then we would get docked 5 points per minute. Ya...made me really nervous. Especially since my shoulder has been acting up and aching pretty bad. I started swimming the mile this morning and by about halfway through I could feel my body start to give out. I honestly started praying right there as I swam that I'd be able to just finish it. Well, I finished it, and my time was 55:37!!!!! I was only about a minute slower than the rest of the boys so that made it even better! So I got full points, as well as knowing that I am in great physical shape! I love swimming:)

Great Weekend!

So this last weekend I came home and was able to spend time with one of my best friends Cassie. We had a blast! No joke. I especially liked hanging with her little brother Colton, but me and Cassie still had fun. Sunday we were crazy so I bought (yes...I know...on Sunday!) some bubble gum so we could take pics. Anyways, here are some of the cute and crazy ones.

Guardian Angel

Since my blog is now private and the only people on here are the ones who I would share this with, I'll share it. This weekend as I was driving home I had the scariest, but most wonderful experience I have ever had! I was on the freeway on cruise control going about 80 mph (don't tell my mom! Haha. Just kidding). As I was passing this semi truck I got this deep sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach that something bad was going to happen! I've never had that feeling so strongly before. Right then my cruise control went crazy. It was like I was going up a hill (where it zooms forward) but I was on completely flat ground. It got up to about 85 miles per hour and then it went back to normal. I hadn't touched the gas pedal at all! Right then I looked back in the rear view mirror and what I thought happened was the semi truck swerved enough into my lane that it would've knocked me off of the side of the road, and where I was going very fast it would've rolled me and possibly killed me. There really are people watching out for us...I know that there was someone was watching out for me. I have an idea of who it is, but I'll never know who saved me last night.

I don't know what went on, but all I do know is that last night was not my time to go...I still have work to do on this earth I guess. It just makes me think about a lot of things...especially about my mission on earth. I don't know what it is, what all I have to do, or anything like that. All I know is that there is more to do.

Footprints

Right now I'm hoping that everything I've ever been taught about trials are true...how we'll never be tested above our ability. I hope it's true, but when it seems like the trial is too big, I always start to wonder. I'll always have faith...but sometimes it's just hard.

Pray

I was just redoing my Myspace page and putting different quotes and stuff on it when I came across this quote. I never used to understand it...I knew it was true but never really had to apply it much before I moved out. Ever since I moved out and moved here to Snow, I've been knocked down so many times by life. Every day seems to make me face new challenges...things that up until now I never noticed b/c I had family and friends beside me helping me get through them. Now it's up to me to get through them...and I'm so greatful for my Heavenly Father and how much He has helped me get through the past few months. I wouldn't be the same person I am today if i wasn't for His help. Even though life is hard, I know that with the people who are supporting me back home as well as with His help, I can get through anything!

I Forgot!

So the most exciting thing FINALLY happened this week! Friday I finally got my CPhT license!!! I am finally legal to work in a pharmacy. Hopefully this will mean a little raise...but I'm not sure. If not, $10/hour is still okay ;) Haha. My mom mailed it yesterday to me so hopefully it'll be here by Tuesday when I go into work. It's so awesome to have it...I've waited so long and things have just gone wrong! I had a lot of things come up in the process of turning in my packet and stuff so it's a relief to finally have it...meaning that everything was okay.

Now I have to start working on my continuing education requirements. We have to get 20 hours in every 2 years, but I only have til this next September b/c they all expire on the same day, and so depending on when you get your license dictates when your first period ends. After this time, though, I'll have 2 years to get all 20 hours done.

I'M SO EXCITED TO FINALLY BE A LEGAL PROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing New

Hey guys! Wow...it's been awhile since I last wrote. Sorry 'bout that. But nothing new has really happened this week. I've actually been laid up with a bum leg, so basically this weekend has just been icing it and elevating it. Hopefully I'll be able to get it healed so I won't have to go to the Dr.

My new roommate is pretty cool. Her name is Sunny and loves to play basketball. It's hard to have to learn to share my room again after having it to myself for the past almost 2 months, so it's a struggle for me. But both of us generally keep to ourselves, which is nice. My old roommate always wanted to talk and play and stuff (in a creepy way) and it was really annoying b/c she'd want to do that as I was trying to sleep, study, etc.

I get to register for classes tomorrow!!! I'm excited. But at the same time I'm nervous for next semester...18 credits! Oh well...I can do it. I just won't have a whole lot of free time anymore like I do now. But if I can take all those credits then during the summer I'll only have to take 6 more (3 easy classes) online to finish up my 63 credits.

Well, I need to start getting ready for church...since I can't really walk on my leg I can only go to Sacrament Meeting...and that's only b/c I have to play the piano in there today. Hope everything's going good with everyone else!

New Roommate

Wow...now I'm sorta scared, but at the same time I'm kind of excited. I'm getting a new roommate this afternoon! Ashley (the RA) came in and told me that she'd be getting here around 4 pm. She's oriental and I guess brand new to Snow College. They figured that our room (and my room) would be the best place for her b/c they know that I'll accept her and treat her well. I'll post a little bit later (maybe even with a pic or two!) about how everything's going. I gotta go pack some stuff up and go to class.

Diving

Oh my crap! So this morning has been great!!! I went to swimming and the warm up was only 1 lap!!! It was way easy...but it was b/c the pool was honestly as hot as a hot tub and we'd get way too tired doing what we were supposed to do. Then we worked on the sidestroke, which by far is the hardest one for me to learn b/c I just am not very hand-foot coordinated so it was sorta hard. But then after we did that for a little while, we got to start diving!!!!!!!!!!!! I was sort of nervous...b/c most of the people in my class are guys and if I did a belly flop then I'd get self-conscious. But most of the guys bellyflopped so I didn't feel so stupid. I actually never did though. Next time I get to try and dive off the high dive (some of the guys were showing off and I guess they want to see me try to do what they did). Anyways, it was just fun! I love diving!!!

Change

Change is hard. Even if it's for the best, it's still really hard. Only one other time in my YW experience have I had this hard of a time with YW leaders getting released, but the weird part is that I'm not even in YW's anymore. The previous time was when Brooke Phillips was released from the Miamaid class.

Even though I even knew that the YW Presidency would be released, today was still a hard day. I wasn't going to go into YW's today (mainly b/c I'm not supposed to...) but I wanted to express my thanks to Stephanie and Jenna and Chelcie and all the others who were released today. As I looked at the faces of each of the YW as the Presidency bore their testimonies to us, I could see the same look that me and Franny and Ariel had at the previous time. You could tell in their eyes that they're all going to miss you guys! The past 1 1/2, almost 2 years have been the best years of my life. Because of these YW leaders, I was able to come back full force in the gospel. Stephanie came in as President and at that point none of us YW got along. We were full of clicques...there was the Laurels, some Miamaids, other Miamaids and not many of the Beehives got along with anyone else either. We pretty much hated each other. It was horrible. But then with the activities, Girls Camp, Trek, etc., these leaders were able to transform the YW's into the group that we are today. I would do anything for those girls, and they love each person too.

Like Sammy said, nobody has died so we should also be mildly happy! Haha. I'm just glad I can still visit those previous YW Presidency members! Generally they move so it's good that at least that's still the same.

Even though it's hard though to move on, I know that this new presidency will be able to be as good, if not better than the last ones. I know pretty much all of them...with the exception of one or two, and all are going to be fantastic. I wish that I was still in YW's so that I could serve under these great women. Good luck!!! I know you guys will do amazing things!

Tunnels of Terror

Hey everyone! So I need some help...and I know some of you guys can help me big time! For college, the on-campus housing students (and some others...) are doing 'Tunnels of Terror' where we haunt the tunnels underneath Snow College. We do this for the rest of the students and I guess the people of Ephraim, Manti, and surrounding areas or something (I'm not sure who we're actually doing it for). I really want to do it...but I'm not sure what to dress up as. I could just be a nerd (haha...don't have to dress up much for that one! JK) but I wanna be something scary. Let me know if you guys have any ideas!

Chemistry Nerd

Today in Chemistry my lab partner David took this picture of me. haha. We were doing experiments with Sodium Bicarbonate and vinegar. Don't I sound cool? Haha. It was just Baking Soda and Vinegar. We measured gas volumes. It was kind of cool actually! So of course we had to wear our nerdy glasses just in case the balloons popped or came off. Haha. Anyways, enjoy el pictura! (Oh and the lines coming down is just my hair and some of them are the glasses...they were kind of breaking. I wanted to put some tape in the middle of them but we couldn't find any.)

The true nerd in me!

Each Life That Touches Ours for Good

In Institute today we sang this song and it just hit me hard. Just read through the lyrics and maybe it'll make sense why.

Each life that touches ours for good
Reflects thine own great mercy, Lord
Thou sendest blessings from above
Thru words and deeds of those who love.
What greater gift dost thou bestow,
What greater goodness can we know
Than Christ-like friends, whose gentle ways
Strengthen our faith, enrich our ways.

When such a friend from us departs,
We hold forever in our hearts
A sweet and hallowed memory
Bringing us nearer, Lord, to thee.
For worthy friends whose lives proclaim
Devotion to the Savior's name
Who bless our days with peace and love
We praise thy goodness, Lord, above.

Way Fun Weekend!

So with everything going on this past week (it's been a harder week for me), it's so nice to be able to have a weekend to unwind and relax. Shelynne came up Friday evening to spend the weekend up here. Haha. As I drove to meet her in Nephi I hit a skunk (the smell is just starting to leave my car). It was bad!

Anyways, it's been fun just to hang out with her! We haven't seen each other in person since last May (we also went through some tough times so we gave each other space) and so it's been great getting to know each other again! We've both changed quite a bit since we last saw each other.

We're going to go get pizza and watch John Tucker Must Die (again...don't ask). Talk to you guys later!

AWW!!! Haha. Us two the night she got here.

We made pancakes for lunch and I made her try peanut

butter on them...my family does it all the time!

Let's just say she was sort of hesitant to do it.

Haha...she actually really liked it! And she'd kill me if she knew I posted this pic!

Conference Weekend

Oh geez...even though I've been cooped up in my bedroom this weekend (between no one really being here as well as being pretty sick...again...and some other things I won't divulge in...I was forced to stay inside), I've been able to do some pretty cool things. Okay, maybe only like one, but I'll get to that later.

Conference was awesome!!! I loved hearing what the Prophet and apostles had to say! I don't know what it is about being away from home, but it made me listen even more closely to what they had to say.
So I woke up this morning to something beating on my window. Since I'm on the second floor I figured it couldn't be a person. So I got out of bed and pulled up my blinds and took a pic...it was raining! But no...it couldn't just rain...just take a look...

If you can't tell that that stuff is....IT'S HAIL!!!!! Oh man...I couldn't believe it. From what I've heard (which is just from college students so don't place too big of a bet on it) this is going to be a harder winter than the past couple ones. UH-OH! Haha. JK. But ya...it surprised me that the thing that was pounding on my window were good size chunks of hail!

Anyways, after conference was over, I started looking at some of my friends' pictures on Myspace. A lot of them have been creating these crazy pics off of this website http://www.yearbookyourself.com/ It's way fun! Anyways, I made a lot of ones of my friend (who since she probably hasn't gotten them in an email yet, I won't post them up here...but I must say that hers turned out a lot better than mine!) but here are the ones of me:

Angels

Okay, so I just got done (well, about an hour ago) watching General Conference. It was amazing! The talk that hit me the hardest was Elder Holland's talk on Angels. For those of you who either did hear it or not, he basically talked about how Heavenly Father sends angels down here (most of the time it's just other people that he sends to help you) to help comfort you in your time of need. Now, I'm sure a lot of us have seen the email about how you have friends for a reason, season, and friends for life. Back when I was in high school and I'd get that, I'd think...ya, it's cute and catchy, but it doesn't really apply. YA RIGHT! Now that I look back over my life, I realize just how many times that Heavenly Father has sent people to help me either for a reason, season, or for life. Right now I'd like to take a second to thank those angels who've been sent to me...a lot of you guys apply to more than one group just so you know!

To all the YW Leaders I've had since I turned 12: thank you so much for putting up with me! I pulled so many pranks on some of you that it's a wonder that you still talk to me! There were some years that I went through that were very difficult and some of you had to help me get through them. I know that it was probably one of the hardest things you've done. I know it is hard for me to know that I made you go through that. Some of you were leaders when I would go a little rebellious. Thanks for never giving up on me even though you probably could have. I said some things that I now regret to some of you....and I apologize from the bottom of my heart for those words I said. You guys made a huge difference in my life and I truly do love you!

To the YW Leaders I had right before I left for college: You guys are truly amazing! You guys helped prepare me to start my own life. It was extremely hard to leave you guys a month and a half ago. I'm so glad that I had the privilege of going to camp this past summer with you guys! It strengthened my testimony so much to see your guys's strength and testimonies.

To the friends for a reason and a season: thanks for helping me through that time. Always remember that even though we lost touch, I am always forever grateful for the influence you had in my life. You guys also had a huge impact on the choices that I made. I am a different person because you were in my life for the reason that you were!

To the friends who I will have for life: I love you guys! I never thought I would ever have friends for life. I'm so glad that I was able to get to know you! Your example and influence is amazing to me. As I watch you in everyday life, I am able to grow so much and learn more than I ever thought possible! Always remember that I am here for you and that no matter where we go in life, we'll always be best friends! I hope that someday I can be the sort of friend that you have been to me!

And last but not least, to the YW in the Woodruff Ward: for the last part of my senior year, you guys were my strength. You guys were the reason why I was happy. I looked forward to seeing you every Sunday and Wednesday! You were and are pretty much my closest friends! I still look forward to coming home just so that I can see your smiling faces! It just brightens up my day. We've gone through so much together! Through the good and the bad, the joy and the sorrow, the happiness and the hurt, we stood TOGETHER! We were really like sisters! And we still are. There's no doubt in my mind that we were meant to be together during those years of YW's. There was a reason...and the reason is because we were able to help each other. When one girl was struggling, all 20 or so of us rushed to help her. I look up to you guys so much! You guys are my light...my strength! I wish I was still in YW's...but I know that the Laurels that are in now are as good if not better than me...and I'm so glad that they were able to take charge once I moved! You guys are amazing...your testimonies are so strong! At camp the past 2 years I was amazed at how strong you guys were and are. I was never that strong when I was that age...or at least I didn't think I was. Don't ever lose your testimonies! You guys are now the youth of the church...make that mean something! I hope you guys realize just how amazing you really are. No doubt about it...this is the strongest that the YW have been since the beginning of the ward (trust me...I went into YW soon after it started). Always stay unified! That's the only way you'll stay strong. And above all else, stay who you are! You guys have the most unique personalities! It's amazing that people can be so different, but yet be like best friends! I love each one of you just the way you are! You can make me laugh even when I'm mad, you can make me smile even when I don't want to, and you have been my strength and sanity those last few months when I was in YW's. I love you guys soooo much and don't you ever forget it!!!

Swimming is Awesome!!!

So I just kinda wanted to brag about myself a little bit. Haha. Just kidding. But I swim the midterm half mile (18 laps in 30 minutes...and a lap is down and back) on October 15th (in basically like 15-16 days). I've really been trying hard to get better, so every day that I have class I go in anywhere from a half hour to an hour early and just swim. Well, today as I was doing my warm up (and a lot more than what was required for warm up...we only had to swim 8 laps for warm up) I was able to swim about 14 laps in about 40 minutes...but I also just wasted about 15 minutes doing nothing b/c I was done with the required laps and didn't know what else to do. If I had actually kept going, I would've been able to easily get 18 laps in 30 minutes. I'm so proud of myself! Plus, today has proved to me that I am able to do things that even seem impossible. At the beginning of the semester (like the first day) when Phil (our coach) told us what we'd be doing for our midterm, I freaked! Luckily as I talked with Anna, she reassured me that if I worked hard in class I'd do okay. Well, I certainly will be okay!!! I'm so glad I took this class...I've already lost about 4 pounds just from swimming! I don't think I'll be gaining that freshman fifteen til next semester ;) Just kidding.

My Weekend

Wow...this weekend has been pointless! Just kidding. It's just been pretty boring. For some reason a lot of people went home. If I actually had money (well, I do, I'm just saving it) I would go home next weekend instead for a couple reasons, 1) it's General Conference next weekend and 2) this weekend is our family Sunday where our families are invited to come up and go to church with us...then afterwards they feed us lunch! Hey...it's free food! Haha. But my fam is leaving early early tomorrow morning to get here by 9:30 am. They're gonna be grouchy! Haha. Oh well.

Yesterday I tried putting on a fake tattoo in my bathtub so that I can someday join Anna's biker gang! Haha. It was way cool too...barbed wire!!! But alas, sadly it didn't work. It was actually a way crappy one...almost like a sticker so it peeled off. Haha. But it was fun while it lasted!!! And yes, I did take a picture of myself putting a fake tattoo on my ankle:) I was way hyper that night anyways!!! When I come back to Logan next I am sooooo stocking up on cool tattoos!!! Then I'll really look like I'm in a biker gang!!! A lot of people down here put on fake tattoos just for the heck of it...some of them even put ones on that're of spongebob and Dora. Haha. I'm not THAT into it, but I do love putting them on!!! After that, I went out to the lobby b/c we were having a movie night here at Castilleja. A bunch of girls pulled out their mattresses so we all piled on those...and the rest of the people sat on the couches. The first movie we watched was The Italian Job. I had never seen it but I'm glad I did b/c it was way good! The second one was The Goonies...which is a total favorite of mine!!!

Today I woke up around 12:30 pm...it was way way way nice!!! For some reason, though, our apartment is like filled with flies! It is kind of disgusting. So I became a fly hunter! For like a couple hours I just went on a rampage killing about 5 flies. Haha. It was way way fun! I wish I could've gotten a pic of me actually in the act...but my roommates were laughing too hard at me!!! I didn't think i was being all that funny...but I guess the fact that we were up until about 2-3 am last night/this morning gave us reason to laugh at just about anything. After my fly escapade I went and cleaned out my cupboards b/c I was way way bored!!! I took everything out, organized it, and then put it all back in. It makes it look like I have a ton less food, but I really don't. A lot of it is just like the boxes of pasta and ramen and stuff like that. But now I can actually get to everything! It looks way nice!!!
I just got back from the General Relief Society Meeting. It was way good!!! It was the first one I've ever been to...so I guess it makes it the best one that I've ever been too:) Haha. No, but it was really good. Especially Elder Uchtdorf's (I think that's how you spell his name) talk. He always can make anyone laugh..but yet at the same time tie things in to the gospel and bring the spirit in so strongly!

Singing to Old People

Today we had our first ever "concert". Haha. I might want to start off by saying...as some of you know, I am in a woman's encore choir here at Snow. Basically we just learn songs and sing them at concerts...nothing big.

Anyways, so today we had our first! It wasn't much...but apparently it's tradition that we try out our songs on the old people. I was sort of scared at first, but when I realized that half of them couldn't really hear what we were singing anyways, I warmed up. Haha. We went to an old folk's home here in Ephraim (just a few blocks down from campus). It was way fun...especially when we did our songs Mamma Mia and Take a Chance on Me (both from the movie Mamma Mia). We do actions to both of those and the elderly people were totally getting into it! I loved doing it! I hope we go back!

So Confused

I don't get it...when girls flirt with a guy it means that they're interested. Is it not the same for guys then when they flirt with girls? I don't get how a guy can flirt with a girl and then date other girls and then tell that one girl EVERYTHING about their date and how those girls shut him down when he's gone to see them again. I don't get how everything can feel so right at one moment, then everything crashes down on you within a day. I don't get how you can be so sure about one thing but then it's not what you thought. I don't get how you can get hurt by a guy when you're not even dating...

This movie, though, is a good way to release any hard feelings toward guys...I would highly recommend it to anyone!! But it has a good message to it too, so all in all, great movie!!!

Funniest Youtube Movie!

Oh my heck...so we were watching youtube videos the other day here in my room and by far this one was the funniest one I have ever seen! If you guys have time you totally need to click on this link and go watch it. It's about 10 minutes but oh my heck...so worth it!

Random Stuff

Hey everyone! So far this week has been pretty good! Been sick a little bit but I think the majority of the school is like that. It kinda sucks being in dorms b/c then EVERYONE gets sick even if only ONE person was sick! Haha. Oh well...dorm life isn't ALL bad :)

Monday night was FHE and so our FHE family went and played volleyball first and then swam in the Activities Center! It was way way way fun! Haha. Afterwards a bunch of us came back to our apartment (well, my cousin came up and Amy was there and so was Andrew and Becca was hiding somewhere) and we just messed around. Me and Andrew played 'Battle of the Cameras' in another video. I took this one b/c Steve and Andrew were messing around. Haha. Totally shows what normally goes on in here.

Yesterday was a horrible day...I woke up with a fever and went to my first class. Everything in the room spun around even when I had my eyes shut! It was nuts! But I came home, skipped half my classes and just slept the morning away. I had to go to work later in the afternoon but that was okay...I earned $40 for the four hours I was there. Haha. Payday is this Saturday so I'm totally excited!

After I had come home, I realized that it was cleaning check day! OH NO! Haha. Just kidding. Actually, we've kept our apartment super clean (pretty much ya...) so it wasn't too bad. Besides, before I left for home last week I cleaned almost the entire bathroom and mirrors so I just had to wipe things off and then clean the shower. When the RA's came in they were very impressed with how clean our apartment was! I thought we should've put on something like the Sound of Music when they walked in but we were barely getting things done as is. Haha. It would've been a nice touch though:) This is of me cleaning the mirrors...and yes! I am wearing a bandana. Haha. I thought that was an extra nice touch! Actually it was just to keep my bangs out of my eyes...but I looked like a total biker chick! Not quite as much as my best friend Anna (who by the way passed her motorcycle driving test this morning...CONGRATS AGAIN BABE!) but pretty darn close:) haha.

There's not much else going on...just have a chemistry quiz tomorrow so I'm going to need to start studying that pretty soon, but first I think I'm gonna take a nap! haha.

This Weekend

This weekend has been quite fun! No joke. Even though I do miss some people back in Ephraim (wink, wink). Haha.

Me and Cass hung out yesterday...it was nice to be able to just relax with my old & one of my best friends!!! We went to dinner and the mall and everything like that so it was way fun! Haha. Her nephew is soooo cute! His name is Shaddix. Oh geez...cutest kid I have ever seen!

This morning I woke up late (as always! haha...I'm a college student now) to go to a volleyball game for the YW in my home ward. It was way fun! Haha. They won too!!! I am so proud of each of those YW - they worked way hard and they were able to pull out a win! I was supposed to be a line judge...but then it got boring and they didn't really need one, then I was supposed to do score, but someone else go to do it! So I gotta sit by my BFF Anna (the best coach ever) during all three games. I love the YW's crazy socks! It makes me really miss being in YW's. It feels weird to be 'too old' to be a part of them. It's hard to no be able to do the things that I used to love to do!

Jordan and Emily...concentrating!

The most perfect pic! Sammy went after the ball which created a perfect action shot!

The best coach ever...and my BFF & sister: Anna Swan!!!!!

Comedy

So Andrew has a brother (21 years old...haha.) who totally is the funniest guy I have ever met!!! The dirty blonde guy is Ryan, and the guy with the darker hair who walks past is Andrew. I hope you guys enjoy it...this is a partial video of some of the ones I taped in our apartment...he's hilarious. Oh and the guy in the doorway who Ryan is kicking at is their cousin Justin.

I made it home safely...I've been here in Logan for about 6 hours. But now I'm kinda sick...coughing really hard makes me pop out ribs and throw up and stuff...not very pretty. Tomorrow I'm taking Jordan Hanks out for lunch during her lunch break and then hanging with Stephanie (we're having a movie party for a little while b/c she's pregnant and not feeling great) and then hanging with Cassie. We're going to watch John Tucker Must Die :)

Death Hall Ball

Oh my gosh! I almost just got killed! Haha. Just kidding. But that's how it felt. We just played this way fun game, but at the same time it is pretty dangerous. Basically here's how it goes: we go to the longest hallway (the other one up here). We split up into two teams and we borrowed Kori's aerobics ball. You put it in the middle of the hallway and yell "GO!". Both teams go running for the ball. The goal of the game is to get it to the opposite end of the hallway by ANY MEANS NECESSARY!!! Haha. We won (I scored the point) but I was scared to death that I was going to get squashed b/c there was honestly like a 6'5" guy that was on the other team. Anyways, that is what we call Death Hall Ball...for obvious reasons. Haha.

Other than that things are going great! I'm getting more and more used to my job so it is getting a little bit better each time. Even though it's nice that I can choose my hours (b/c not every week is going to have the same activities...sometimes I go home, one week I have a concert, another is a rehearsal, etc), at the same time it's totally up to me to decide when to go in. So far (for this paycheck on Saturday) I have a total of about 20-24 hours. Not too shabby! Haha. I almost have enough in my savings account to pay for next semester's housing so I just need to add enough for that to be done and then I'm going to buy a camera. If I can save up enough I am going to buy probably either guitar hero or DDR :) Haha. Maybe even both depending on how much I can save. Down here I very rarely spend anything...honestly! There's nothing to spend it on other than food and that's not even worth it unless you go to Roy's Pizza.

Anyways, so I'm coming home next weekend (I'm coming back on Thursday the 18th or so) so if anyone wants to do anything (even just hang out) just let me know! I know me and Cass are hanging out sometime on Friday (surprise surprise...haha.). I'll be home ALL day on Friday :)

So there's this kid that walks me to my choir class every Tuesday and Thursday. He's in my institute class (choir's right after that) and last Wednesday he asked me for my phone #. He's also in my start smart group and we were leaving Start Smart and I could tell he was way nervous. He had a sort of terror in his eyes so when he asked me I couldn't very well say no or else you could tell it would've broken his heart. Haha. JK. But I did end up giving it to him.

So far I've done pretty good in my classes. On all my quizzes I've at least gotten a B on and same with my tests. I was worried about my psychology test, but alas, I got a B on it!!!!! Haha. And I had a migraine while I was studying for it so next time I'll do even better!!!

Other than that not much has happened. I can't wait to come home though! I love visiting everyone! I miss you all!!!

PTCE

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!! I just looked on the PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) to view my test scores (well...just to see if I passed)....AND...............................(dramatic pause)..................................I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my heck. It's like totally unreal how much everything has worked out! Now this week I'll go down to SLC (prob not all the way to Logan) and go to DOPL (Department of Occupation Professional Licensure) to get fingerprinted and have a background check and then I get my Pharmacy Tech License!!!!!!! Crazy huh!

So today has been so tiring already and it's only like 12:30. I went to swimming today and we honestly swam about a half mile. My legs were burning sooo bad! But I am trimming down a little bit...and getting into shape. Anyways, so then I have Fitness for Life right after that. It just so happened that today was the day that we needed to run the mile. Haha. Oh my gosh. If we ran it we only had to do 1 mile but if we walked at all we did 1.5 miles. So I basically walked. But it was really hard b/c my legs kept almost giving out so I could barely even walk. My muscles were so so so tired! Haha. Swimming is way good exercise though! Much better than basketball EVER was for me!!! Phil (our teacher) only told me one thing I needed to work on so that means that I am getting better!!! :) I'm glad. Right now we're just working on front stroke. For one of the drills we did we had to swim with our thumbs under our swim straps and swim with only our elbows. It was only hard b/c we didn't really know how to breathe when we did that. Haha. But we did get to use the flippers...so that was nice! Haha.

I will be graduating most likely this Spring! Well, I'll walk at graduation this spring and then I'll go do classes during Maymester and then if I need to I'll do it during the summer as well but then I'm all done! Then I'm moving back to good ole Logan! I'm so excited!!!

Well now I need to start getting ready for chemistry. My teacher honestly doesn't really even teach...it's like a high school senior trying to teach us but oh well. hopefully his tests will come out of the book instead of lectures b/c I don't listen anymore :)

My First Weekend Here

So this is my first weekend here. It's been way freakin boring! Most people go home I guess over the weekend. But I have no money (really) so I have to stay here. Basically I slept in til noon, woke up, ate breakfast AND lunch and then worked on what little homework I had. Haha. I have it way too easy here...but it's b/c I worked my butt off in high school to take AP classes and worked even harder to pass the tests. So now there's a chance that I might be graduated after next semester depending if I have enough elective credits from high school. I'm hoping that I will b/c there's a Walgreen's (with a pharmacy if you know what I mean) that's opening up in Logan next year and I want to work there....badly! Haha. I like Skyline, it's just not the greatest work environment b/c I'm still pretty new to the whole pharmacy setting (I've only worked in a pharmacy for 4 months...3 1/2 of those were as an intern so i didn't learn EVERYTHING). The pharmacist does yell quite a bit and it hurts b/c half of what he yells at me for he doesn't need to yell or even get mad at. I don't know. I'm just ready to go back to Logan. I'll probably work a year or so and then when I save up enough money I'll go back to Bridgerland.

So for like the past 3 hours me and my cousin Steve and the girls in 202 and Amy and some other random people who just walk in have been playing DDR (dance dance revolution). I took a shower this afternoon and now I'm all sweaty again. Haha.

I'm sooo not looking forward to waking up tomorrow early! Haha. I am excited though to go to the singles ward! I did get a calling but technically I'm not allowed to say what it is. But I'll tell you guys tomorrow. Haha. Lets just say I knew I'd get this one...

I don't know what else to write...me and Steve went to Roy's Pizza tonight for dinner...it was way good! For $8 we got 3 slices of pizza each (they're big slices and are fat so like one filled me up) and 8 pieces of breadsticks each. Not too bad considering that it'll be my lunch (well...dinner cuz tomorrow's fast sunday) tomorrow.

I did try out for a solo in choir the other day. I was soooo scared but in the end I was glad I did it. We won't find out until Tuesday who got the last part but even if I didn't it was still so worth it!

Other than that nothing much has happened. I've put in 12 hours at Skyline so far (they're paying me apparently for the work I do). It's nothing like OGM (Old Grist Mill). So much more professional and busy! Haha. I never get a chance to sit down, which is what I was always doing at Lee's (my internship) b/c we were never really busy.

Okay, well, my turn is next on the DDR. Talk to you tomorrow!
